I received a free copy of this book through a giveaway, in exchange for an honest review. This was a fun and surprisingly different read! The story wasn't at all what I expected it to be, and the characters felt like actual people we got to know little by little as the story progressed. While I wasn't moved to tears nor did I bust my ribs laughing (my personal requirements for a five star rating), this book thoroughly entertained me, surprised me constantly with its plot twists, was easy and enjoyable to read, and even made me think about life a certain moments. Plus, I identified with Renee, a secondary character, which is rare. Usually only the main characters are developed enough to do so. Overall, this was a great read and one that I would definitely recommend!

Mr. Brant keeps a steady pace of intrigue in this science fiction gem. The characters are well developed, and I especially loved the relationship between the female protagonist and her bonded counterpart. It's hard to write a review without spoiling any of the plot, but it includes harrowing situations, romance, humorous friendships, and a good dash of action. I like how the author doesn't bombard the reader with characters early on. They are steadily introduced over the course of the novel, which makes if easier to get to know them one by one. The action scenes and dialogue are both well written, something that is hard to find in novels as a whole. I definitely recommend Begin Anew for anyone who enjoys a good Sci Fi novel (or fiction in general)!
