Dream Fall by Amy Plum involves a group of teenagers suffering from insomnia. They meet for the introduction of a medical treatment that’s supposed to help them all get full nights of sleep. This is a medical trial for these seven teenagers who are in the second batch of testing, the betas. One person, the alpha, has been successful with the treatment already. After the seven reach the dream state, there’s a power bump which causes them to enter a comatose state, according to the research doctors. But the teenagers are actually stuck in a horrifying dream world together. One by one, the dreaming teenagers realize that they are together in a combined dream state. None of them can remember the medical trial or any other short term happenings. While the teens sleep on, the doctors over the trial frantically try to fix their comatose state. As the group moves through each other’s nightmares, they began to recall where they are. The danger keeps increasing and death becomes all too real. The ending is a cliffhanger and the scariest part of the story. 4 stars for this young adult horror story!

Amy is an experienced writer of things imagined or experienced! This does have it's frightening nightmares and descriptions of fearsome stuff! But the tension is very creative, intellectual and addicting! Really a good read! And I've gone back and re read so I'm really ready for the sequel! Amy writes wonderfully and even offers some avenues for processing the unwanted for the reader!
Dreamfall is a breath of fresh air when it comes to looking for something different and exciting! Loved the story, the characters were wonderfully written (love Ant), the dreams just get terrifically scarier. This is definitely a book you should pick up if you are looking for a good scare and a reason to turn on a night light.
I personally suffer from insomnia, so I found the subject of this book very intriguing. I love the alternating points of view and all of the research that clearly went into this book. I gave this book to my mother when I was done with it and she enjoyed it as well. Great read!
I loved this book! Borrowed it from the library and then bought it plus pre-ordered it's sequel. It is so intense that I read it in less than 24 hours. I found the concept to be new and very innovative. The only thing that upset me is there is a cliffhanger that killed me emotionally when I realized I'd have to wait almost 6 months to read the next book!!
I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical when I picked up this book. I've been a fan of Plum for years, but this wasn't her normal theme of writing. I've never been too happy with horror and thrillers by any author before, but it's not surprising Plum has changed that! This novel has some freaky parts, but I was able to fall asleep without any trouble (though I did turn on a night light).

Amy Plum never fails to draw her reader in with the first few lines of her stories. Although this story was different from her previous series, and not a genre I would ever pick up, I gave it a try and I've gotta say I'm a fan of it now! All the suspense, intrigue and mystery really kept me at the edge of ny seat. I was blown away by the story and regardless of my previous desire to read Amy Plums books slower...it just didn't happen. I flew through this book because I just couldn't get enough! No matter who you are or what genre you love...trust me you'll love this one!
I love how Amy writes but in this case it's a little too good. I don't do well with horror and there's a lot of horror in this book. At one point I was hyperventilating because I have claustrophobia and the characters were caught inside a coffin. I'm not finished with it yet but I'll keep going I've got to see where this takes me I just have to read it in Little Bits so I don't freak out.
